The Rapides Foundation's Economic Development Initiative includes a Business Start-ups and Expansions component that focuses on building a regional entrepreneurship system for Central Louisiana and developing of new capital access resources for early stage and expanding businesses. 

The Rapides Foundation funds the Business Acceleration System (BAS) to cultivate entrepreneurship in Central Louisiana. These efforts include providing technical assistance for entrepreneurs and their companies, providing coaching and mentoring services for entrepreneurs and business owners who want to grow their companies, and promoting the development of general entrepreneurship infrastructure.
