Community Development Works, a program of The Rapides Foundation, is offering skill-building training for Cenla residents and nonprofits. All workshops and webinars are available free of charge. Webinars are only one hour long from 11 a.m.-noon and can be accessed from most devices using the GoToWebinar app. Workshops take place at The Rapides Foundation Building, 1101 Fourth St., Alexandria.

• Start-up Series Workshop: To Be or Not To Be a 501(c)(3) with Felicia Walker on Tuesday, March 11 from 9 a.m.-Noon. Receive an overview on how to start a nonprofit organization, including how to file with the Secretary of State’s office and IRS.
• Grant Writing Series Workshop: Introduction to Finding Funders with Felicia Walker on Tuesday, March 18 from 9-11 a.m. Learn to find funders with the Foundation Center’s comprehensive funding research tool.
• Volunteerism Series Workshop: Creating a Volunteer Program with Trudy Bell-Wickham on Tuesday, March 25 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Gain an understanding of what a successful volunteer program includes and learn how to build it.
• Start-up Series Webinar: Understanding Nonprofits for New Staff with Felicia Walker on Thursday, March 27 from 11 a.m.-Noon. Designed for new staff members and volunteers to gain insight into the distinct characteristics of nonprofit organizations.
