Webinars offered free of charge on a variety of topics
Community Development Works, a program of The Rapides Foundation, is offering free skill-building trainings for Cenla residents and nonprofits. The trainings will be in the form of interactive webinars that can be accessed from electronic devices.
CDW trainings are free of charge. Topics are geared toward nonprofit staff, board members, community volunteers and people interested in starting a nonprofit to improve their communities. The courses run from September 14 through November 11.
Fall trainings are presented within the following topic areas: the Start-Up Series for Nonprofits, the Grant Writing Series, the Program Development Series and the Board Development Series.
Fall courses are as follows:
- Start-Up Series for Nonprofits training courses: To Be or Not To Be a 501(c)(3); How Great Leaders Inspire Action; Introduction to Finding Funders.
- Grant Writing Series training courses: Organizational Tips and Tricks for Grant Writers; Basic Grant Writing; Basics of Federal Grant Writing; Grant Writing Bloopers that Deny You the Money; and Denied a Grant? Revise it With a Funder’s Guidance.
- Program Development Series courses: Building Program and Grant Budgets; Built to Change; and Creating Approaches for Collective Impact.
- Board Development Series courses: The Board’s Six Main Jobs; Selecting and Orienting New Board Members; Recruiting and Retaining Quality Board Members; and Engaging Your Board Members in Fundraising.
Participants have the option of taking part in all trainings in a series or choosing only the ones that interest them.
