Community Development Works, a program of The Rapides Foundation, has posted its fall schedule of nonprofit training for Central Louisiana residents. Onsite workshops are held at The Rapides Foundation Building, 1101 Fourth St., Alexandria. Webinars are offered from 11 a.m.-noon and can be completed from any computer. All workshops and webinars are free of charge.
Webinar training topics include:
• Webinar: Easy Online Videos—Share Your Nonprofit Story on YouTube on Thursday, Sept. 20. Do more than just tell your stakeholders in words about the impact of your services. Learn to easily create and share online video by using free web applications for nonprofits. Send an engaging DVD along with your next annual report. Video is quickly becoming the most favored mode of communication online.
• Webinar: Developing Your Community Plan on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Developing a Community Action Plan allows the community to work together to accomplish the vision, goals and objectives they have for their community. It allows organization and community leaders to work together on a common cause, align their focus and make a powerful impact in the community.
• Webinar: No More Committees of One on Thursday, Nov. 8. Ever find yourself nominated to be a committee chair, without actual committee members? Learn about effective committee structure and how the committee can be a tool for the board—to not only accomplish goals, but to help sustain the organization. In this session, you will learn about shadowing, using the committee role as a trial run for potential board members and how to use Plans of Work to track and achieve success.
• Webinar: Fostering Job Satisfaction—Coaching and Mentoring Staff on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Job satisfaction is not only critical for you and your staff; it is an essential element for fulfilling your organization’s mission. This webinar for executive directors and supervisors will give you essential tools for creating a work environment that fosters engaged and satisfied staff.
