The Rapides Foundation is launching a daily challenge that encourages people to make better food choices and to increase their physical activity. The Get Healthy Cenla Challenge offers realistic challenges that people can do every day.
The overall goal is for people to eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day, and to get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, five days a week.
The Foundation offers multiple ways to participate in the challenge. People can access the monthly calendar on The Rapides Foundation website. Each morning, we will post that day’s challenge on The Rapides Foundation’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Some of the individual challenges will be demonstrated on our YouTube page as well.
The challenges are designed to be realistic. If someone finds them too easy, they can double the amounts. If someone can’t do a challenge, that’s OK too. The Foundation encourages people make small changes to improve their health.
The Get Healthy Cenla Challenge is a component of the Healthy Lifestyle Program. This is a program aimed at fighting obesity in Central Louisiana by providing Central Louisiana residents with resources to lead healthy lifestyles. This project is funded by The Rapides Foundation and administered by CMAP, the Cenla Medication Access Program.
