Program Officer/Program Associate

The Rapides Foundation seeks a full-time Program Officer/Program Associate. This position is a key Foundation professional and reports to the Director of Programs. 

The position responsibilities include development and administration and management of initiative components that support efforts to achieve the Foundation’s mission to improve the health status of Central Louisiana. Program Officers/ Program Associates work in the areas of healthcare access, healthy behaviors, education, economic development and/or community and nonprofit capacity building.

Specific areas of responsibility include cultivation of prospective projects, program implementation and support, grants management, assessment and research, communications and issue development. A complete job description can be downloaded in the Documents to Download section below. 

The position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree preferred. The role is designed for a generalist with areas of interest and expertise reflecting health and well-being issues including but not limited to public and community health, birth to postsecondary education, nonprofit development, workforce development, economic development and youth engagement. Qualified candidates must have at least three years of experience developing, implementing or evaluating evidence-based programs. Knowledge of efforts by Well-Ahead Louisiana, Louisiana Department of Education, the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) and the Louisiana Workforce Commission as well as experience with grant management and postsecondary institutions is preferred but not required.

This position will be filled at the Program Officer or Program Associate level depending on years of experience.
