The Rapides Foundation is accepting Letter of Intent submissions for its May 15 grant cycle. These grants are intended to support projects or programs that address specific issues of interest to the Foundation. Proposals should impact residents within Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon and Winn parishes.
The Foundation welcomes applications for prevention programs seeking to:
- Decrease teen pregnancies
- Decrease the number of chronic and binge drinkers, as well as decrease the prevalence of drunk driving
- Increase the number of individuals who receive selected immunizations
Applications are accepted for programs up to $1,000,000 for a maximum of three years although few grants are awarded at the maximum levels. Requests for projects of $10,000 or less are accepted at any time as part of our Mini Opportunity Grant Program.
The Program Opportunity Grant cycle consists of a two-stage process: the Letter of Intent and then the full proposal. Letters of Intent are used by the Foundation as a screening device to determine whether the applicant is proposing a project or program that has a reasonable chance to be implemented in an effective manner and whether the project or program meets the general program interests of the Foundation. Applicants asked to continue to the full proposal stage will be provided with specific information to guide that effort.
Letters of Intent and supporting information must be received in our office on or before the May 15 deadline in order to be considered.
Information on How to Apply for Grants is available on the Foundation’s website. If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please contact Program Officer Akeshia Singleton at 318-443-3394 or akeshia@rapidesfoundation.org.
