The Rapides Foundation and The Orchard Foundation have joined with Central Louisiana's nine school districts to sponsor "Investing in Cenla's Future: A Summit on Responsive Education for the 21st Century."
The summit is free and open to the public. It will be held Wednesday, Jan. 21, at The Wesley Center, 2350 Methodist Parkway, Woodworth. Registration is from 3:45-4:15 p.m., with the keynote address beginning at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5:15 p.m.
"Investing in Cenla's Future" will analyze the economic and workforce needs of the future so that Central Louisiana students will be prepared to compete globally, said Joe Rosier, president and CEO of The Rapides Foundation. The summit is part of the Foundation's Education Initiative.
Keynote speaker Jim Brazell will explain why it is critical to integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the school curriculum, and connect learning to future careers through Career and Technical Education.
"We urge you to invite your family, friends and co-workers to participate in this important conversation," Rosier said.
